Colombia achieved epic win over Canada in the Pan American basketball

Colombia reached its second victory in the women's basketball tournament of the Pan American Games Guadalajara-2011 Saturday, beating Canada for a tight match 59-57 inthe second round of Group B match at the Dome CODE.

The coffee quintet debuted on Friday with an easy win against Jamaica 83-26, while theU.S. fell in the opening round against Brazil for 78-53.

With his victory on Saturday, Colombia matched Brazil line in front of the locked and secured alongside Auriverdes a place in the semifinals.

Much of that success came from the hand of the wing pivot Narlyn Mosquera who scored 21 points and reissued their debut when good performance of the same amount scoredagainst Jamaica.

This time Mosquera was assisted by Mabel Martinez was dispatched with 16 points and grabbed 7 rebounds defensive.

Leidy Sanchez, heroine of the party to score a triple in the absence of seconds left, said he was super happy with the result and said his team was not going to stop fightingdespite being against the clock.

"I shot and I needed to seek out the basket," he acknowledged.

For its part, Colombian coach Luis Cuenca described the victory as "fantasy" and said his players "gave a very emotional end" to the public.

"The result puts us already within the four best teams in the tournament," said the coach.
